A wonderful American classic with great illustrations! Read this myself as a child and it's now a favorite adventure story of my small boys.

The illustrations keep my 20month old interested for (almost) the entire book. I enjoy, reading it, too. Always finding some new detail in the pictures that I hadn't noticed before.
